Itinerary
on this page

Day 1. Čenej – Novi Sad (cca 30km)
Arrival to one of the many authentic salas farms in Cenej where you can taste traditional local cuisine and enjoy the typical atmosphere of the Vojvodina region and the beautiful sounds of tambourine music. If you come earlier to the salas, you can try horse riding, coach riding or your children can play in the garden. After dinner, departure to Novi Sad, capital city of the Vojvodina region, with architecture in Austro-Hungarian style. Accommodation in apartment in the center of the city. After, we recommend you to take a short evening walk in Zmaj Jovina or Dunavska Street.

Day 2. Novi Sad – Sremski Karlovci – Fruska Gora – Belgrade (cca 95km)
After the breakfast spend your time in town, walking through pedestrian areas and visit Sloboda Square, Cathedral, City Hall, Zmaj Jovina Street, Dunavska Street, Orthodox Church or museums. After sightseeing, go across the river and visit the Petrovaradin fortress – Gibraltar on the Danube, represents a classical example of architecture of the XVIII century with the most beautiful view on Novi Sad. We recommend that you take a tour in the underground system of the military galleries, with a professional guide. Departure to Sremski Karlovci - a small baroque town, famous for its beautiful architecture and wine and grape from the nearby vineyard on the brows of the Fruska Gora Mountain. City sightseeing and wine tasting in one of the many wine cellars in Karlovci town. Short break for the lunch, we recommend the restaurant "Danube" on the river. Departure to Fruska Gora. Visit to monastery Krusedol or Grgeteg monastery fom XVI century. Departure to Belgrade and accommodation in apartment. We recommend an evening dinner accompanied by musicians at the famous bohemian Belgrade quarter of Skadarlija that emanates an oriental atmosphere, and to those who want to experience a real Balkan night life, we recommend the cafes on the river in Belgrade and Zemun. Return to hotel. Overnight.

Day 3. Belgrade
A day in Belgrade, capital city of Serbia. Walking sightseeing of Belgrade - Kalemegdan fortress - primarily built by Celts in the III century BC with the ZOO, Republica Square, Knez Mihailova Street - main pedestrian zone with cafes and shops, Terazije, St. Sava's temple - the biggest Orthodox church in the world, Parliament, St. Mark’s church, open markets... Visit the “House of flowers”, grave of long standing president of former Yugoslavia – Tito. Dinner in one of the many restaurants in the city, but we recommend Bohemian quarter of Skadarlija, Overnight.

Day 4. Belgrade – Viminacium – Silver lake – Captain Misa’s hill (cca 190km)
Departure toward Smederevo (a view on the medieval fortress), Pozarevac and Kostolac. Near Kostolac is situated archeological site called Viminacium, the ancient Roman city and former capital city of the region "Upper Mezija“ with the remains of the fortress. Viminacium, also known as the "Balkan Pompeii“. The remains were under the ground till recent times. Journey continues to Ram, medieval town on the Danube with a great fortress. Arrival to Silver lake, a place to relax and enjoy in swimming and laying on the beach. Departure to Golubac and an optional visit to Lepenski Vir, an archeological site dating from neolithic period with a museum setting. Arrival to the Captain Misa’s hill in Djerdap canyon near Donji Milanovac, accommodation and overnight. 

Day 5. Captain Misa’s hill – Negotin – Rajacke Pimnice – Gamzigrad – Zajecar – Boljevac (cca 220km)
Departure to Negotin. Visit and wine tasting of the famous domestic wines in the famous wine cellars in the village of Rajacke Pimnice, 30 km far from Negotin. Departure to Gamzigrad. Visit to the Roman complex called "Felix Romuliana", one of the most important late Roman sites in Europe, located in the vicinity of Gamzigrad spa. Felix Romuliana is under protection of UNESCO since last year. Archaeological diggings in the fortress have unearthed the remains of a palace with exceptionally fine mosaics, public baths and impressive city gates. Departure to Zajecar and Boljevac. Accommodation in Boljevac, overnight.

Day 6. Boljevac – Nis – Prolom spa (cca 220km)
Departure to Nis. Sightseeing of the Nis, city in the very centre of the Balkan peninsula. The city was built on the shore of the Nisava river. Visit to the most important sights and to Nis fortress, a complex and very important cultural and historical monument - an edifice that dominates the urban nucleus of the city. There you can take a short break or a coffee in some of the cafes in the fortress or take a ride in the little tourist train through the complex. Visit to the national Museum and to "Cele Kula", a monument built of skulls of the people of Serbia during the times under the Turks. Departure to Prolom spa. Relaxation and enjoying in wellness and spa programs, overnight.

Day 7. Prolom spa – Devil’s Town – Caricin grad (Queens town) – Lebane - Leskovac (cca 75km)
Departure to the south. You have the opportunity to visit the natural phenomena of the Devil's Town, a place with an unusual name and appearance. A visit to this nature site will take place, which is famous for 2 rare phenomenae: the earthen figure - specific relief forms with different shapes, that grows, reduces, disappears and grows again and two springs of mineral water with high mineralisation. These two rare natural phenomenae, make the Devil Town a real nature miracle of the world. It is a candidate for the list of Seven Wonders of the World. Departure and a visit to Caricin grad (Queens town) – one of the biggest and most significant Byzantine cities of the central Balkans, endowment of Byzantine emperor Justinian. This town was erected in the Byzantine province Ilirik, where the Byzantine emperor Justinian was born. Departure to Lebane, where you can see interesting architecture and old handicrafts shops and old cafes, and Leskovac. Leskovac is a town known for it’s famous “pljeskavica” and other gourmet grilled specialties. Sightseeing of the town and enjoying the spirit of the life and architecture, typical for southern parts of Serbia will round out this great tour.
