Monastery Tour

Tour departures in front of hotel Putnik. Departure to Sremski Karlovci. Short visit to church in Tekije to where stands the memory of the last battle with the Turks on these grounds in 1716. Uniqueness of this church is that at one time had three altars, all different religions.

Arrival to Sremski Karlovci, small baroque city significant for its history and unique wines that are made here. Sightseeing of the city centre: 4 lions fountain, seminary in Sremski Karlovci, patriarchs court, first Serbian secondary school.. Visit to Orthodoy church. Visit to one of many wineries and wine tasting of 5 different sorts of wine. Taste Italian and Rhine Riesling, Cabernet, Merlot and the most famous – Bermet – dessert wine. Visit the chapel of Peace, place where a peace agreement was signed in 1699 between Christian Alliance (Austria, Prussia and Venice) and the Ottoman Empire (Turks)

Dparture to monastery Krusedol – the most significant monastery on Fruska Gora Mt. It was founded by Vladika Maksim (Djordje Brankovic) with his mother Angelina. The monastery church is dedicated to Annunciation Day and is richly decorated in paintings – the oldest frescos date from half of XVI century. All members of Brankovic family are buried here, King Milan Obrenovic, Princess Ljubica, Arsenije III Carnojevic, Arsenije II Jovanovic and Stevan Supljikac..

Departure to Grgeteg monastery which was founded by Vuk Brankovic, also known as Dragon the Fiery the Wolf somewhere in the XV century. The monastery church is dedicated to St. Nicholas. This monastery keeps one of the most faithful copies of Holy Mother.

Visit at least one more monastery in Fruska Gora Mt. in agreement with the guide and the group. Lunch on Fruska Gora Mt. near monastrey velika remeta, in great nature, where you will have opportunity to try delicious meal from our cuisine.
